FAQs for Gymnastics and Trampolining at Kimberley

When will sessions resume?

We expect to reopen sessions on W/C 26th April 2021

What are the new times/days?

We now host gymnastics on Wednesday evenings and Trampolining on Thursday Evenings

How long will each session be?

Each session will now be 45minutes in length to allow us to social distance classes and manage flow; as well as spend time sanitising equipment in between sessions.

Can I go straight into my session?

Please help us keep everyone safe by arriving no earlier than 5minutes before your session starts. You will enter via the normal entrance doors and make your way to the sports hall. Chaperones will leave their child at the entrance door for the duration of the session. Please then leave via the exit door by reception. We will lead the children out of the fire exit at the top of the sports hall and meet you at the gates to the football pitches to collect them at the session end time. These are located to the right of the main entrance as you look at the main building.

The exemption to this will be for parents with children in Monday lunchtime pre-school gymnastics* (age 3 & 4; go up to studio 2 as usual) who will be asked to attend the session with their child and may be asked to provide hands on assistance during their session. You will need to wear a face covering and have your temperature checked for this.

*Pre School Gymnastics is currently on hold until further guidance is released.

What safety measures are now in place to protect my child?

Following latest guidelines from the UK Government and British Gymnastics; we will be encouraging everyone to sanitise their hands and have their temperature checked before each session. We will be limiting the groups to no more than 10 per coach and each child will need to maintain social distance between other participants. We will do this using a range of techniques such as floor markings, coach direction and individual areas (boxes).

Coaches will be regularly disinfecting equipment before and after each session and will be sanitising hands regularly.

Following the guidance, our coaches will not be permitted to support a child due to social distancing measures, so sessions will need to be adapted to reflect this. Where a child cannot perform a movement safely, we will regress the movement until we can progress the gymnast safely.
