Work It Out Together

Work It Out Together

L Leisure are delighted to support Broxtowe Women’s Project on the Work It Out Together project.

Broxtowe women’s project have secured funding from the Western Power Community Matters Fund to support women who have been affected by domestic abuse. The funding will support them to be less isolated and lonely, and increase their levels of physical activity.

There are opportunities to get involved in group exercise classes, challenges and gym memberships.

We will also be encouraging walks, exercise in the fresh air, and other group activities with cultural partners on the project: Beeston Canalside Heritage Centre, Stapleford Library & Attenborough Nature Reserve.

BWP’s CEO, Colette Byrne, said: “We know that mental health significantly deteriorated during Covid, and feelings of loneliness and isolation were exacerbated. Therefore we’re delighted to secure this funding that will enable women to engage in sports and leisure activities in a safe space that will provide some time to focus on themselves that helps to improve their mental health and brings people together.”
